Brunswick County Gator Senior Games and SilverArts Showcase
From swimming and running to bocce and pickleball, from painting and writing to singing and dancing, the Brunswick County Gator Senior Games and SilverArts Showcase offer county residents over the age of 50 a chance to show their stuff.
With events taking place all over the county between April 1 and May 8, the Gator Games have something for everyone. Traditional Olympic-style events, like track and field and cycling are joined by individual and team sports and even more recreational pursuits such as billiards, croquet and bocce ball to offer something for every taste and ability level.
Gator Game participants are organized into at least 10 age groups to help level the playing field. Winners in each sport will move on to the NC Senior Games.
For those who aren’t interested in physical competition, the SilverArts Showcase offers a chance to shine. With visual, heritage, literary and performing arts categories, even cheerleading, all the artistic bases are covered. Performing artists will compete during the SilverArts Follies show at the Leland Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, May 1. Medals for the Gator Games will also awarded at this time.
Registration is open now and closes on March 20. Visit bcparks.recdesk.com to register or for more information.
